Terms and Conditions
All assemblies are completed within the same day where possible and a 12 month guarantee given upon completion for the works carried out. We DO NOT assemble on the same day as delivery or any other events that are taking place i.e. carpet laying, building works etc. The 12 month guarantee is void if;
- damage occurs to item/s in the event of them being moved to a different room
- being moved to a different house by the customer unless FlatpackITUK Ltd are instructed by the customer to dismantle and reassemble
- normal wear and tear is visible
- where any items have been misused or abused
If there is a fault with the item, please refer to the supplier and their returns policy for more information.
If a revisit is required due to damaged / missing items, an additional call out charge of £25.00 would apply and is payable on the day of return. In most cases (IKEA customers only) this can be reclaimed from IKEA as this was no fault of ourselves and or the customers. Please check with your local IKEA store before agreeing to any of this revisit clause.
All customers are requested to check their assembly upon completion. Once both the assembly and area of work have been checked, the customer is then required to sign the completion form. The customers signature is confirmation that they have made the necessary checks and are satisfied with the completed job. NO responsibility will be taken by FlatpackITUK Ltd or the fitter for any damage to goods and or property once the fitter has left the premises.
Please note that any parking charges, fines, parking tickets and/or congestion charges incurred in order to carry out the job will be passed back to the customer. This includes any parking charges incurred where a customer has specifically given instruction for a fitter to park.
It is not the responsibility of our assembly teams to move products either before or after the assembly. The product should be placed in the area where it is to be assembled before the assembler arrives. As the customer, it is your responsibility to have the items placed where assembly is to take place. IKEA delivery will take items into a room of your choice, however, if for any reason the items are not in the place ready for assembly and you wish the assemblers to move them then a charge of £30 will apply. The fitters have every right to fail the job if the items are not located in the room of assembly and a £25.00 callout will then apply.
Packaging – we will break down and dispose of cardboard in your recycling to be collected by your local authority. All other rubbish will be bagged and left with your household waste.
It is your responsibility as a customer to ensure there is adequate working space for your assembly to take place and that your ceiling height accommodates your furniture. If this fails then a £25.00 call out charge applies payable to the fitter on the day.
Payments accepted – Cash, Bank Transfer and payments upfront can be made by prior arrangement. Bank details will be given upon request. Any bank transfer payments are to be made while the fitter is still there. We DO NOT accept cheques. Payment is made upon completion of job and if for any reason you are unable to pay for the work carried out, then we will dismantle all assembled items and proceed to take action for costs incurred.
You can cancel free of charge up to 48hours before your assembly time & date. Inside 48 hours of your arranged assembly time a 50% charge of the total assembly cost will be incurred. This is payable via debit/credit card over the phone. In the event of a failed assembly due to customer error then a minimum charge of £25.00 will apply.
Terms & Conditions: If an item is damaged upon delivery, then this must be dealt with direct with the company / store of purchase. If an item becomes damaged or bows after assembly, then again this must be dealt with direct with supplier. We will be happy to dismantle & reassemble any item further to an exchange. An additional call out fee will be charged at £25.00 plus an hourly rate of £30.00. We will NOT take responsibility in any way for faulty goods.
Any information given to us in person, over the phone, online or through our survey’s will be used for your single transaction only. Your details will never be passed onto any third-party, additional survey groups or marketing schemes. All ‘in person’ information collected referring to 12 month guarantees and completion forms are held & stored securely.
- Any parking charges or fines incurred in order to carry out the job will be passed back to the customer
- Any congestion charges incurred in order to carry out the job will be passed back to the customer
- £5 charge applies per wardrobe frame and any individual item fixed to the wall i.e. wall shelf
- £10 charge per suspension rail for besta and bathroom cabinets
- £50 charge for each infill fitted
- £5-£10 charge for cutting holes for sockets etc.
- £10 per item for removing skirting boards and coving
- £30 to move goods to required room if not already insitu
Additional call out charges may apply for some areas
